South Boston Urban Renewal Plan public hearing is held.

More than 500 people overwhelmingly oppose the plan at the meeting at the Broadway Theatre. The crowd and city officials are told by the president of the South Boston Citizens Association, “We don’t need urban renewal. We can do our own rehabilitation.”
